Position Summary The Driver / Material Handler is responsible for safely transporting goods, over the public roadways, between Aspen’s main facility to its storage facilities. This position also supports general warehousing activities. Must be able to work 12-hour shifts; 4 days on/ 4 days off, night shift flexibility a must.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Safely transport goods to or from designated locations following all company/local/state/federal procedures, rules, and regulations
Load and unload goods from trailers using fork lift or other material handling equipment
Scan or otherwise create logs of goods movement data for inventory transfer verification and transaction
Perform daily inspection and maintenance procedures on all transport equipment, including tractors, trailers, forklifts or other
Log inspection results in Driver Vehicle Inspection Report (DVIR) or fork truck log
Report any potential safety or mechanical issues to supervisor for review before using the equipment; then only use after supervisor approval
Follow all safety codes, rules, and requirements,
Maintain safe and clean work environment
Comply with work procedures, rules, and regulations
Complete all required safety, health, and environmental training
Report all safety incidents, including “near misses” to supervisor or manager immediately
Carry out other tasks as assigned by manager or supervisor
Specific Skills
Maintenance of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License is a condition of employment, including all required drug testing, physical health checks, DOT or other training
Proficiently read and write in English language
Capability to operate a forklift
Capability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds
Experience/Education
High school diploma required,
Class A Commercial Driver’s License required, preferably with H and T endorsements
Minimum of 3 years’ driving experience
Clean driving safety record required
